Jan. 9th, 2006 09:08 pmGratuitous 'I'M BORED! ENTERTAIN ME! Or allow me to entertain you, or something...' post.
Name any fandom I know of and I will tell you:
1. The first character I fell in love with.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer.
6. The character I would shag anytime.
7. The character I'd want to be like.
8. The character I'd slap.
9. A pairing that I love.
10. A pairing that I despise.

1. Shadow. Definitely. He's just big, and solid, and quiet, and cool.
2. The forgetty god. I don't know where he comes from, and there is almost no canonical reason to love him, I just do.
3. I wouldn't really say there're a lot of characters everyone loves, in that fandom, but one character I probably should love but don't is Mr. Ibis. He seems like my type, but I think he'd be entirely too pedantic for me.
4. Again, I shouldn't imagine there's a hugely hated character. I shall say Low Key Lyesmith, because I probably ought to.
5. Mr Ibis.
6. MmmmBast.
7. Sam Black Crow. She rocks like a rocking thynge, and her statement of beliefs is probably my favourite moment in the book.
8. Laura. Foo'.
9. Low Key/Shadow, even though I've never seen any. Jaquel/Ibis is also weirdly fascinating in theory.
10. Hmm. Probably Low Key/Wednesday, due to grizzled chest hair and old man nipples. XD

Date: 2006-01-09 01:45 pm (UTC)1. This is a hard one to answer, because every single episode I fell completely in love with a new character. I think the first episode was probably Kaylee, though, because she's unutterably adorable.
2. Jayne. I thought he was obnoxious, sexist and idiotic. And now I've learned that... hey, he still is! As well as backstabbing and treacherous. But it's cute!
3. Er... I shouldn't imagine everyone loves Inara, but I'd say her. She aggravates me intensely.
4. I don't think everyone hates him, by any means - most people are probably reasonably indifferent - but Book is definitely my favourite character.
5. We weren't given nearly enough episodes to answer this question, dammit.
6. Saffron. GUH.
7. Wash, I think. He's a talented pilot, he's got a gorgeous wife, and he's able to make jokes even in the most dire of situations.
8. Badger. Because he's a git, and probably a lech.
9. Kaylee/Simon. I KNOW! CANON! WTF?!
10. Jayne/River. Again, WTF, but in all the wrong ways.

Date: 2006-01-11 05:03 am (UTC)2. Richard. I don't go in for hero types, but he's endearingly completely inept, and the troll thing - I really need to see the series someday.
3. Er, probably Door. I will not go into my reasons.
4. Heh. Islington, Mr Croup, Mr Vandemar because Gneil's villains do rock.
5. Door.
6. Marquis de Carabas, do you need to ask?
7. Marquis de Carabas. Is this unhealthy?
8. The fop with no name. No real reason.
9. Marquis/Sirius Black, Marquis/the amazing Maurice, Marquis/Richard
10. I don't really despise, but I am hugely indifferent to Richard/Door.

Date: 2006-01-11 05:13 am (UTC)2. Granny Weatherwax, Sam Vimes, Lu Tze - Pterry is absolutely brilliant at gradually fleshing characters out, so I guess almost every character I've ever loved, I never expected to love as much as I do now.
3. Hmm. I don't think there is a universal everyone else, here. That's not really how the Discworld works. Um... I'm not enormously keen on Rincewind, anymore?
4. Again, I don't think anyone really hates him, but I have a huge love for André from Maskerade, and I should imagine almost the entirety of the rest of the world has no interest in him. I'd write André/Drumknott if I thought there'd be more interest than just me. XD
5. Rincewind. He's essentially stayed the same, really, throughout the books. I still like him well enough, but he doesn't inspire the kind of devotion I have to Sam, Vetinari, that sort.
6. André. Purely because in my head he looks like Callum Keith Rennie.
7. The character I am like is probably some weird combination of Susan Sto Helit, Sybil Vimes and Agnes Nitt. I'd like to veer a little more towards the Susan and away from the Agnes, I think.
8. Probably Cohen, let's be honest. XD Most Likely To Cause It.
9. I love Vetinari/Vimes. I also love Vimes/Sybil. This complicates matters.
10. Detritus/Buggy Swires. I still have trauma from the drabble someone made me write. XD

Date: 2006-01-11 06:10 am (UTC)Vetinari doesn't like girlbits. Except for dessicated vampire girlbits.

Date: 2006-01-11 05:21 am (UTC)And I'm shit at answering comments, I'm sorry. :)
1. Apart from Crowley, right? 'cos that's kind of obvious. I think it would have to be
2. Bernard. He's not my type of person at all, but he's insidious.
3. Er. I'm not going to answer this, because it's rude.
4. People don't hate him, but the world is indifferent to Billy Tallent, one o' my boys, and I loooooove heeeeem.
5. Charlie Weasley. I don't love him in Milliways anymore 'cos he's just kinda... mopey. Not much to do when the head barman steals yer girl. XD
6. Crowley, Lucifer, Aziraphael, Raguel possibly (it's the smiley icon), Remus, Lord Peter, Lady Delia, Tonks, War... it's kinda impossible to answer this one briefly.
7. Aziraphael. I want his bookshop, his tweed, his boyfriend... okay, characterwise no, because he's ridiculously stubborn and neglectful and always worrying. Characterwise I'd like to be like Roland, I think.
8. Not answering on grounds of continued existence.
9. Kaylee/Simon, Aziraphael/Crowley, Bernard/Tonks...
10. Um. Again with the not answering.
I'm sorry about the dodging of questions, but. Mod. XD

Date: 2006-01-11 05:29 am (UTC)1. Crowley. Crowley Crowley Crowley. He is absolutely love. Completely. He was all cool and demony and sekritlysocrap!
2. Aziraphale. Who is now, without any question whatsoever, my favourite character. I mean, I always loved him, but now I looooooooove heeeeeeeeem. XD
3. People seem far more fond than I am of Anathema but I don't actually hate a single character, really.
4. Anyone who's read the screenplay probably hates Brian, but I love him beyond all reason, does that count?
5. Nope. Can't answer this one. XD
6. Crowley. It's the tongue thing.
7. Adam. He's remarkably sensible and well-adjusted, when you get down to it. Also possibly Anathema.
8. Mr. Tyler.
9.Aziraphale/Crowley, obviously. And Brian/Wensleydale, if we're talking non-canon. XD
10. Hastur/Ligur. I don't despise, I just don't want to read it. Right along with UNBEARABLY BISH Famine/Pollution.
