I think Brokeback Mountain has actually broken me, you know.

I can't control my leaking, any more. I mean, okay, getting weepy over Wilbur (wants to kill himself) is acceptable, because dark humour aside, it's an exceedingly depressing film. But... come on. Mulan?!

Luckily Princess Bride didn't have me flooding the place, but it did have [livejournal.com profile] kenovay demanding Westley/Inigo slash, and reminded me that I need to work on my Inigo/Jack Sparrow thinger.

And, for the record?

[livejournal.com profile] unravels is my favourite. ♥

Yeah-- it had that effect on me too. When Jack drove away crying, or when Ennis found the shirts, or when Jack's mother, in that awful, bleak house, just found him a bag for them-- or when Ennis decided to take a risk (finally) and go to his daughter's wedding, I mean, what else was there to do.

And then, driving home, trying to be coherent and say intelligent things about it all to my friend who'd gone with me, but all the while thinking, 'multiply that times a million, over the years and the miles'.

I hope it wins all the awards they have.

Hey. Mulan is deep and mournful and says a lot about the sad position of Chinese women in that time, OKAY?

Westley/Inigo or youknowwhat, babe.
