Um.

Sometimes? I don't think Long and Hard about my phrasing. So. If anyone was offended by the tone of my last post? You have my abject apologies. Everything said was only my opinion, was only ever intended to come across as my opinion (since it was posted here and not back-room-ified) and that really ain't worth so much and should be taken with entire handfuls of salt.

Sorry.

I adore a Knight's Tale. And. Um. Kinda the best bit is Paul Bettany slashing people and quoting Eddie Izzard on the commentary.

*sad, sad child*

I, too, adore that film. "Trudging"! And the commentary is GOLD. Absolute genius fried gold on toast. Superlative.

*is also sad but, crucially, doesn't care*

And was that not the film of Hot? Bettany, Tudyk, Puresex AND Sewell in the same film? (And Heath Ledger, who is curiously only attractive as a cowboy)

It's... quite extraordinary. We will leave my personal infatuation with Rufus Sewell as Crowley well alone and focus on the GUH evil Adhemar, who is quite clearly (if you watch the deleted scenes) in a hugely sadomasochistic relationship with his herald and also all hot and tousled; the prince just... there is no way to describe what 'take a knee' does to me, dude, and also I believe he's clearly shagging Chaucer since he wouldn't let just anyone stand on the arm of his chair. Personally I find Alan Tudyk's chin exceedingly intimidating, but that doesn't manage to overcome the lure of slashing him with Chaucer (fonging? they have NO SHAME) and it's just... such a ridiculously pretty film. (Also? French maid. GUH.)

What.

What.

YOU ARE A GENIUS.

... No, really. I mean it. You're a genius. Why the HELL didn't I think of that? What? Previously I'd kind of imagined my friend Hal (http://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic_id=42a7287fd6d9b) as Crowley, only less pierced. But. Oh god, Rufus! RUFUS!

hugely sadomasochistic relationship with his herald and also all hot and tousled

*whimper*

Notice how the maid was so much hotter than the "love interest"?

I did not find Jocelyn even the least bit attractive. The succession of unbelievably ridiculous outfits was a contributing factor, but also quite reassuring in that Hollywood has some sense of maintaining tradition - you ever seen Olivia de Havilland's sartorial wonders in The Adventures of Robin Hood?

I've always seen Rufus as Crowley, canon wise. I'm perfectly happy with Johnny Depp, 'cos, HOT, but if I were casting the film I'd have Rufus as Crowley and Adrian Rawlins as Aziraphale.

Ah, the dresses. I had been primed for the dresses by reading the [livejournal.com profile] m15m review, but I still managed to be somewhat shocked and bewildered by the hairstyles and the amount of Non-breast on display (although saying that reminded me of my favourite line in the whole thing - Will spluttering "You're just a stupid GIRL" in a fine and articulate fashion. Heh.)

*googles* Ah. I tend to see David Thewlis, but I suspect this is just a deranged casting tic of mine, for whenever anyone peculiarly English-seeming crops up I mentally cast them as The Thewl.

I would adore David dear, too. He's just so... I don't even know. The little 'hullo' for Neville in PoA kills me every time, dammit.

Tell me you've seen Gangster no. 1. Please tell me you have seen Gangster no. 1?

If you haven't I'm going to have to forcefeed it ye. Somehow.

He's so English that he transcends it, goes right out the other side, wanders aimlessly around the bookshop on the Other Side of Englishness and then pops back in for a cup of tea and to apologise for being late.

I feel I must strap myself down and prepare for my force-feeding, for I have not.

....Right. Where do you live again?

'cos. Thewlis. And Bettany. In ONE FILM!

Not to mention the fact that Paul? Cleeeeearly in love.

Lahndahn! Or Lunnon, depending on where you're from.

I have seen caps. Then I drooled a bit. Then I made this icon and drooled a bit more. Then I was scraped off the floor.

:D

Hee, thankee. I am terrified of ever expressing an opinion, unfortunately, for fear of causing offense, so must instantly go back on whatever I say.

I must work on this.

I. Um. I have a confession to make. I am hugely intimidated by you. And I have no idea of Merriman's canon at all, really, so much of what is squeed over and dreaded loudly in chats I don't really understand.

That said?

I so want the angel to thread with him.

I didn't see anything offensive about it... Strickt, perhaps, but I don't think there's anything anyone should've felt hurt by.
