HOly shit it's cold today.

Been to the doctor and they're doing a positive barrage of blood tests on me (okay, maybe five or six. I've just always wanted the excuse to say 'barrage'.) I now have cotton wool strapped to my arm and am deflated down one side.

Basically he's eliminating all other options before he says yes, yes you're right, it's IBS. He did seem concerned that my periods ain't ever been regular, and is testing various things about that, too. Fun fun fun. I have some medicationy stuff, and now I'm pottering off to bed for a bit, I think. I'll see y'all shortly no doubt. :)

Yikes. Having gone through the whole "barrage of tests" phase myself a few years back, I can definitely sympathise. (Urgh, those cotton wool bandage things! I think the worst bit is always when you have to pull them off, though. *wince*) Anyway, hope everything gets resolved soon!

Well, my husband and uncle both have IBS, and I have to say that what you've got sounds far more serious. I'm no doctor or anything, but you sound like you've got a really bad bug of some sort. And if you had really bad IBS, bad enough to make you this sick for this long, I'd imagine that you'd have far more frequent episodes as well.

But that's just me.

I'm so relieved you went to the doctor. Now, of course, comes all the tests and waiting, of which, as you may know, I am very familiar. Did he say anything about the headaches?

IBS shouldn't cause you to be unable to eat. You need nourishment, hydraation, and rest. Even I have enough medical knowledge to be sure of that.
