Mar. 20th, 2006 10:14 amEverything seems to be working out, at the moment. I mean, to the extent that I just got a phone call, out of the blue, from a recruitment agency. I'd sent my CV off to them a while ago, never heard anything back, pretty much gave up, and now they've taken my mobile number and promised to give me a call as soon as anything comes up. It's just... the world seems to be working in my favour now I've actually started making an effort to sort myself out, which illustrates so very well how much I was shooting myself in the foot before. Depression and withdrawal and just not dealing with things, and everything seemed to be trying to tell me that that was not the way to be only I wasn't listening. Now I'm finally working things out, and hey! Life is better.
Also good is the current run on Da Vinci Code interviews - someone from Specsavers came 'round the other day with a Now! magazine which, okay, crap magazine but lovely Paul Bettany pics; then my mum texted me and told me to go out in search of the Daily Mail which again, tasty. Which means I can finally replace that bloody picture with Kirsten bloody Dunce.
On a completely different note, Small Gods was one of the first Discworld books I read, and it's still one of my favourites.
""I'm telling you, listen, a finite intellect, right, cannot by means of comparison reach the absolute truth of things, because being by nature indivisible, truth excludes the concepts of "more" or "less" so that nothing but truth itself can be the exact measure of truth. You bastards," he said."
Someone from inside the building said, "Oh yeah? Sez you."
The old man ignored Brutha but, with great difficulty, pulled a cobblestone loose and hefted it in his hand.
Then he dived back through the doorway. There was a muffled scream of rage.
"Ah. Philosophy," said Om."
Go. Buy Terry Pratchett, my children. XD

Date: 2006-03-20 02:55 am (UTC)...I'm only stating the bloody obvious because I've BEEN there, hon. But coming out of it... wow, doesn't that feel good? Glad things are looking up honeybunch.
Except for when you say bad things against my first ever lesbian crush. Don't make me beat you with the Eternal Sunshine box...
Also. I want to come visit you next week, and want to discuss logistics. Ideas?

Date: 2006-03-20 03:16 am (UTC)Anytime and everytime for you, oh miss no.1 on our priority list.
Sometime between Tuesday and the Wednesday? the week after (blimey, I forget when she's leaving. Woe!)
Although for preference not the weekend, because I think Londoners would like to cut into my ladytime as well. Both millimuns and my friends who want to be the protective friend type.
So... when are YOU free?
