Until this point? There was so a chance of saving myself. Really, there was. I loved the characters, sure, and the homoerotic tension was fabulous, but I could totally have given up.

Pfft, if you are slashing Inui/Kaidoh already, I think you may not survive the Hyoutei arc, which is when it becomes like canon. Inui is such dork!love.
