Of course, it’s difficult. Not so much when you recognize one of them, because there’s so much more recognition in a tone of voice, a gesture, the way they smile; it’s very clear there’s none of them left. It’s more a case of practicality – Americans have their shotguns, while we have cricket bats, pokers; I saw one particularly enterprising woman take one down with a stick of rock. Myself, I’ve become quite proficient with a garden hoe that used to belong to my father; he was dubious, but it turns out I’ve got his brains.
