Grocers! Bakers. Small shop type places generally, actually - they might not have a lot, but they'll probably have at least some that they were just going to chuck out. Especially if you go in the morning.

The Post Office, Ikea and that Big Yellow Self Storage Company thing all sell boxes but I shouldn't think they'd be especially cheap for what is basically cardboard. Free boxes, keep trying supermakets until one takes pity? Aldi and Lidl usually have piddly little free ones for people to take their shopping away in, they might well have bigger ones around out the back somewhere.

Sainsbury's have always provided me with boxes. Maybe Tesco's just sucks?

what about furniture stores? gots any in your area? In my area the furniture stores have big dumpsters that they put the boxes/packing materials from the furniture in... dunno how much that'll help, but it's another idea...

Liquor stores! You know you want to put your books in a whiskey box.

My office buys reams of paper in big cardboard boxes and there are always a few lying around in the back - maybe the place you're working doesn't use quite as much paper as we do, though.

Hmm, other office options. When I moved a few months ago I put a sign in the break room that said something like this:

HOLLY IS LOOKING FOR BOXES TO BUILD A FORT. IF YOU FIND ANY, PLEASE LET HER KNOW!

You wouldn't believe the number of people who a) found or pointed me toward boxes and b) truly thought I was planning to build a fort with them. I can't decide whether I just work with really gullible people, or if I actually have a reputation for being just that weird.

Might be an interesting experiment, even if they don't have any boxes. XD
