I am in pain, but significantly less so, which is quite pleasing. I already like my job. I know, I do know that it's going to be a hella lot more work than this when I'm actually helping out in classes and the like, but I'm getting to know the people I'm going to be working with better and we've just all clicked so well straight away. We've been sitting around when the students are scarce discussing books, TV, queer theory and deconstructionalism, and it's just... yeah. I reckon this'll be a pretty good year if my health sorts out.

Plus I've found someone to go to the opera with, next time there's some at the Mayflower. Shiny.

I haven't been reading your journal much because, well, Discworld Convention, and then Worldcon, so much traveling and so little sleep.

I'm really sorry to hear your health has been so bad, but it sounds promising that you are improving. And it's tremendously good news that your new job looks as good as it does.
