Okay. Who're Rodney McKay and John Sheppard, and why should I be interested in them?

(I've just read a pretty spectacular AU by toft_froggy, see, and I have no idea who they are.)

Yeah, they're two of the guys on SGA. Rodney is a brilliant scientist and will tell you so, and then will probably tell you why he's smarter than you are. It's actually more enjoyable that it sounds, because he's amusingly snarky. John is some higher-up military team-leader guy (like I know from military designations) who has awesome hair with its own personality. You can cut through the homoerotic subtext with a diamond-studded chainsaw blade if you've got a hell of a lot of patience.

Then again, that's from someone who doesn't watch the show but reads some of the fanfic. McKay/Sheppard fic is almost always cracktastic.
