My fandom experience started with mailing lists. Specifically the RatB X-files Mulder/Krycek mailing list, actually. I didn't know at the time the ridiculous amount of mailing lists there were, or much at all about how fandom worked. Then when I stumbled across the Snape Fuh-Q-Fest mailing list, joined up, started writing, found livejournal, I completely let mailing lists fall by the wayside. Not enough time, I guess? I don't know - I tend to be involved in things more for the people than the fandom.
Fandom intrigues me, but I'm generally an outsider. I don't know whether I should change that.
Out of curiosity, then...
