Oct. 3rd, 2006 11:21 pmI believe in gay rights. I believe in equality generally, really. I believe in a lot of things, but very rarely strongly enough to actually do anything about it. (I don't really consider a meme to be 'doing something'.) Which is why I'm not putting a subject line to this post, and it's why I'm not c&ping the quote, because I think it would feel entirely too hypocritical. Plus I don't really like doing things by rote, so much. Not things that I care about.
If anyone could explain to me the difference you think such a post would make, I'd be very glad to listen.

Date: 2006-10-03 11:05 pm (UTC)I'm sorry, but if I'm going to be posting something that I didn't write in my LJ, it's either going to be fucking brilliant and worthy of sharing, or so stupid it's going to make everybody laugh. It's not going to be a meme that takes up monitor space, especially when I'm pretty sure everybody who has me friended knows how I feel about gay rights.

Date: 2006-10-03 11:17 pm (UTC)Not, "I support gay rights," but "I believe in gay rights."
Uh. I like in America in 2006. I believe in gay rights almost exactly like I believe in Santa Claus. As in, I wish he existed, but the evidence of my senses is disappointing.
