nnyI was reallyquiteill last night. I think it was something in the kedgeree or possibly just my wonderfully ineffective stomachal system. I'm vaguely upright, now, and experiencing a bizarre urge to watch original Star Trek. And I was prompted to make this entry by the fact that I've seen the same mistake in fic twice in the past two days and it's really annoying me. It's lay on. Lay on, alright?

Date: 2006-10-14 03:57 pm (UTC)If you actually see it enough to learn it, whether or not it's accepted as standard English, you've learned it properly and it's not a mistake. If you learn it one way but write it another (er, without conscious decision to), you've made a mistake.
