EEE I'M GOING TO SEE MATTHEW BOURNE'S SWAN LAKE FOR MY BIRTHDAY! For £13, no less. And tomorrow I'm also going up to London for a course on inclusivity for the deaf learner in the classroom which'll be interesting (I hope) and an excuse to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] apiphile and possibly [livejournal.com profile] kenovay. HUZZAH!

In other news, the more I hear about Orson Scott Card, the more he comes across as an utter asshat.

From what I've heard, he is one. A shame - he writes interesting stories. Good thing a good writer doesn't have to be a good buddy.

He is a very eloquent asshat.

Family legend: my cousin, at a book-signing (many years ago, when he was a wee tiny cherubic thing and not a wannabe punk rocker), got grabbed as "the perfect Ender" by OSC, who started to go into grandiose plans of casting him in a starring role in the potential film. Shiny-eyed cousin was standing there with my aunt, to whom not a single word was addressed by Mr. Card before she got so frustrated and pissed off by him that she dragged wee cousin away.
