Jul. 13th, 2003 08:39 pmFilched this from delireuse. Plus, this is an exercise in my finding out if wikdsushi's quick lesson on cut tags actually worked. =)
1. What's the name of your current project?
I'm gonna take that as HP projects, because they're the only ones actually going anywhere at the moment apart from my possible novel idea that I've been researching a while.
Therefore... two untitled (as yet) stories for the Fuh-Q-Fest, plus a strange Snape/Lupin that's been previously mentioned called "Breathless (a wolf at the door)". Yes, there is a reasoning behind the title.
2. What kind of work is it (novel, play, short fiction, etc.)?
3 slash stories and a novel.
3. How long have you been writing it for?
Hmm. The novel, I haven't written anything yet, but I've been researching for about 6 months and have sheafs of notes. The stories... I have only written snippets so far, but I have started properly writing my response to scenario #19: First date blues today. Not far into it yet, but hey! Progress!
4. How far have you got in that time?
Oops, I pre-empted that question. =)
5. Have you planned out the rest of the work?
I have plans for two of the three slash stories- breathless and first date blues. The other one likely won't have a plot, because the words I received for the three word challenge suggest more of a plotless reflection than a story. I dunno yet. As to the novel-type-thang, I have no idea what it's about. I just woke up one morning and knew the characters intimately, so I'm researching them in the hopes that I can build a story around them. Kind of a strange way to do things, but never mind.
6. Is it going to be a standalone, or could there be sequels?
Um... breathless will probably stand alone, as will the three word response. The scenario response might prompt a prequel, as I've never written an established relationship before really, and I'm not awfully fond of them.
7. Have you written anything else with the same characters?
No.
8. Would you consider writing an erotic story based on the work or the character in it?
Um... they're slash stories. What can I say? =)
9. What would you say are your main influences?
For the slash, Harry Potter obviously, plus Radiohead for Breathless. For the novel, it'd have to be Neil Gaiman, plus my religious studies lessons.
10. If you could do a crossover story with another famous author who could it be?
Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, or Telanu *g* though I'd be unbelievably scared of screwing up.
11. Do you have friends who write as well?
None that I've met. I'm starting to meet people online through this whole lj thing, plus the fest list is the friendliest and most inspiring I've ever been on- I don't feel forced to lurk because of overbearing personalities or what have you.
12. Have you ever done a crossover with your work and theirs?
No.
13. Ok! So your work's been a massive hit and a big movie company wants to make a movie of it. Whom do you cast?
Um... I guess that doesn't really apply for HP (although I wouldn't cast David Thewlis as Lupin...) and the novel isn't really the film type. I was thinking about Seth Green when I created Adam, although... I think Adam'd be taller. *g*
14. Would you say there are any particular themes/issues that run through your work?
my slash? angst. I love angst. Also, first-times. I really don't get on well with established relationships- could explain *my* disastrous love-life. =)Another recurring style is that it's all very innocent; not much sex in my world. In RL too, more's the pity. I intend to change that aspect of my stories.
15. Finally, what do you like most about the work?
When I can read them back 6 months later and not screw my nose up. When people write to me and tell me I made them cry. Sadistic, me? =)
