I love that they really are as close as fandom would have them, and I love that this episode reminded me of a fic where John and Rodney were shagging in a virtual reality game because... PRETTY MUCH.

God, the thing with the vest? SO. HOT. This ep was like a fangirl dream, with added Lorne/Zelenka! (WHICH I NOW WANT LIKE BURNING. I mean, I liked Lorne/Parrish, but there was NO canon evidence. I mean, there was no canon Parrish, aside from five minutes in one ep, and fandom just ran with it because he was funny and Lorne is pretty. XD)

Also, I agree with you both about the clear tension between them and the fact that I totally kept expecting the avatars to get together. That became less likely after there was full-on discussion of war, but. *g*

John and Rodney were just so essentially CUTE in this ep. I mean, the flashbacks to them playing, their continual sniping over whether Rodney had CHEATED, I'm sure there was a bit where John smacked Rodney upside the head (which I always love), and John's sulky expression both at all the Rodney pictures in Geldar and the way Nolah hit on Rodney... it was just an all around awesome ep.
