Well never buy anything from Dell. Seriously.

They have now promised that my computer would be delivered last Thursday, then Friday, then Saturday, then Monday, then Tuesday, Wednesday and again today.

Bloody furious, over here, for the record. What with the screwing around of social arrangements, and all.

*sigh*

Sorry for the current boringness. I'll be aiming to change that soon enough, promise.

Oh, one positive thing from this morning; I watched Rebecca, with Laurence Olivier, and gosh but that was fun. You really have to wonder where they found some of their actors. The woman who played Mrs Danvers was a joy, though, and George Sanders had a truly frabjous voice. Shere Khan, don't you know.

I was vaguely hoping to go into town today, get stuff done, but that was when I was vaguely hoping my computer might be delivered before lunch. I think I shall declare this day a wash and just tidy my room, get some adminny stuff done, do the town thing tomorrow.

Blah.

I can't speak for the European division, of course, but in the US Dell uses UPS -- is it the delivery company that keeps fucking up, or did Dell lie about sending out the package in the first place?

I know it's a frustrating pain in the ass, but it'll be worth it -- Dell computers are durable and dependable, and good value for the cost.

*hugs* It has to be so awful to know your computer is THERE and not be able to get to it. Hope they deliver it soon.

I just... I genuinely wouldn't mind so much if they'd say. I would be perfectly happy to wait an extra week for my computer if they'd say that's what I had to do, but this constant promising and then going back on it has meant that I've been staying in night after night, expecting to get the computer and then getting more and more frustrated when it doesn't get delivered. The truth is that they don't know when it's coming, and are just promising me things over and over in order to get me off the phone, which is frankly insulting.

Grr.

Can you get a tracking number from them or something, next time you talk to them? It would make them guarantee that they've actually sent the damn thing, and you could turn your attention to the delivery company instead. If you can avoid threats of knuckle-breaking, that is, which I'm not sure I'd be able to do. >:(

Oh, they've definitely sent it. They're in constant contact with the couriers, according to them, which is why this situation is so bloody ridiculous.

*SIGH*

Oh my GOD. Constant contact?! *THROTTLES*

They should give you a partial refund or something. You are not a delighted customer. You've already told everyone 'never buy anything from Dell,' so. In the interest of future potential customers they should be trying to get back in your good graces. Don't they know ANYTHING about net promoter scores? I wish to hell I didn't.

*sigh*

We shall see what they say on Monday. I'm just pissed off that it's into the third week of daily contact with them and still no computer. If they'd contacted me last Thursday and said that it'd be a week and a half I would have been fine with that.

How is it Dell's fault that the post is fucked? Didn't they lose a package from Sophie not too long ago?

It's not the post. Dell are using couriers, and keep promising me that they've been in contact with them and that this, that or the other is happening. I would understand if it were the couriers fucking up, and that's probably a part of it, but Dell are constantly bullshitting me about when it's going to be delivered. Seriously, I wouldn't have a problem with it if they'd just tell me the truth so I don't have to spend days in waiting.

Well. I'd be tempted to tell Dell where to get off the bus, demand a refund, and buy elsewhere. Liike maybe from a local computer shop where you can go pick it up??

How positively annoying. Here, have a nice cuppa.
