Anyone in need of any Patrick O'Brian?

No. Wait. I'll rephrase that, since obviously anyone who hasn't actually read any is clearly in need of it.

It's... well, it's the books from which 'that gay movie with all the wooden ships and gay' - as Bigger called it - was made. It's fabulous writing and engaging plots and ridiculous situations and intense quotability and Stephen Maturin who is like unto a god. No, really.

I've got Post Captain, HMS Surprise, The Mauritius Command, Desolation Island and The Fortune of War, which're books 2-6, and they're going for the paypalled price of postage. I'm also sure I have Master and Commander around here somewhere, so I'll add that to the list should I come across it.

Since me mam bought me fresh new copies, and all.

It's entirely possible there's some dog earing done; the books are all obviously read, but in good condition.

Lemme know. ;)

BWAHAHAHA YOU ARE TOO LATE! FOOLS!

I'll let y'all know if there's anything else I come across.

*smooches*

I need Patrick O'Brian! I think.

I know that I need to read about Maturin being a spy, because I think that would lead to hours of :D!!! Whichever ones you recommend. *eyes bookshelves* I will find space for them. Somewhere.

Have you read HMS Surprise? You should read HMS Surprise, if you haven't. There's torture! And bitching!

"Curse my metal body, I wasn't fast enough" is a quote from Star Wars, which I am sure I've watched too many times to be healthy. ;) You know, when everybody is about to get smushed in the trash compactor! It is a 3PO quote, hence the metal bit. It sounds rather dirty. XD

I haven't read any of them! Torture and bitching?! *orders*

I so need an M&C icon. I've always meant to make one. I WILL.

Hee. How necessary is it to have read the first one before HMS Surprise?

Well, you know enough from the film that you won't be helplessly lost if you don't read the first one first, but they are all so good that you ought to eventually.

The way Jack and Stephen meet is so completely delightful and romantic-comedyesque. XD
