nnyMy parents have just bought a computer and it's not connecting to the internet. Or rather, when I go to the internet explorer page and go to internet options=>set up a connection, it claims that it is already connected to the internet. And yet explorer claims that no pages can be accessed. My computer, on the wireless router, is working absolutely fine (obviously) so it's not a problem with the ISP.
And the people we bought the computer from claim that I have to buy £45 worth of cover from them before I can get any advice.

Is there anything simple that I can try to fix this, people? I mean, my experience on my computer is just right clicking on the little icon and telling it to repair - which is very faith healer of me - but there's no such little icon on theirs and Windows Vista is completely throwing me off. I've trundled around various connecty options on the computer, none of which seem willing to admit to the existence of such newfangled things as these 'internets', and now I have absolutely no clue what to do.
I flail at you helplessly until dad gets home.
I so need some kind of technophobe icon. I fail. XD
