I am just endlessly pleased with the fact that all the random extras in Doctor Who are Welsh. It's so weird; most of the people I met in Wales were English students, the Cardiff accent is actually kind of hideous and I'm certainly not going to live in Wales again, not long term, but I have such endless fondness for it. And the really weird y in the Welsh accent infallibly makes me grin. It's the oddest thing - the y sound is moved to the end of the sound only not, quite. It's somewhere in the middle without splitting it into different syllables, and it's something I've never been able to reproduce, and it makes me happy. Dork dork dork. :D!

I don't think I noticed until most of the way through season one that it was produced by BBC Wales.

I quite like Wales, but that might be my snobbery at being easily able to pronounce "ll".
