nnyIt's summer, it seems. How delightful!
The esteemed fambly have all headed off Londonwards to see Sir Justin of Timberlake shake whatever it is he has to shake, tonight. They're also going to see the Antony Gormley exhibition thing, which I am rather more jealous about; I have asked for postcards but I doubt they'll be remembered.
In their absence I've decided to - unless I receive any phonecalls from the lass at work - settle myself in the garden in a sun chair and read the newly arrived Chrestomanci books, which I'm dreadfully excited about. I've read two of them before, but I bought all four of them for about a tenner and it's so completely glorious to lose myself in them. I wish my mental worlds were as rich and varied as Diana Wynne Jones'. I once formed a crush based almost entirely on the fact that the lad was called Christopher Chant. :D
Then for tonight I have three bottles of pear cider - it was on offer - and I suspect I'll end up getting faintly tipsy and watching Thoughtcrimes. It's become something of a tradition. No idea what I'll eat yet, since I neglected to get anything out of the freezer; I might try and think of something to do with all the mushrooms we've got in the bottom of the fridge. Then again, I might be hideously decadent and order myself some chinese, or a Dominos.
The world is my mollusc. Today's a good day.
