Okay, here is a summary of my current situation because I tend to keep talking in fragments and complaints; I have this thing where I forget that you lot don't sit inside my head and know everything I know, so I start up mid-conversation and expect you to understand.

*grins*

I am starting a course at Bath University next month which is a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I'm training to be a secondary English teacher, covering kids between eleven and eighteen years of age. Mostly I decided to do this because I have a bizarre love of the English language - if not for systemic functional grammar (DIE DIE DIE) - and because you get paid £9,000 to train and then only have to teach for three years. Like signing your life away to the army but ever so slightly less dangerous.

Then I spent nine months working as a Learning Support Assistant in a local college and discovered that actually I was going to train to be a teacher because it is challenging, stupidly frustrating, and one of the most rewarding things ever. So there's that.

Bath University told me I had to live close to the school I would be working at; makes sense, since I'll have to be there from 8/8.30ish every day. Of course, then they proceeded not to tell me where I was going to be working until the beginning of this month, leaving me with very very little time to house hunt.

I have had prospective flatmates for a long time now and I am so excited about living with them, but the possibilities of three bedroom houses to rent in Bath seem pretty much non-existent. We're looking at every spare moment, but no luck so far.

What this means is that I have temporarily rented a Uni Accommodation room for the first two weeks of my course, whereupon I will need somewhere else to move into due to the influx of undergraduates. And in that Uni Accommodation room I will have um... clothes and books, mostly. Radek* is too big to fit in my suitcase. For two weeks. I am assuming that you can get plug-in chargers for iBops, because without my ZPM I fear I shall run mad, but seriously this does not look like a fun prospect.

I think I'm gonna have to find a way to print out the SG:A Big Bang stories or something. A way which doesn't involve my parents shooting me for paper and ink use. Hmm. XD

* My computer is Radek because he's fairly quiet unless I argue with him, generally competent, and pop-up windows messages are far less annoying in a Czech accent.

That is just a ridiculous amount of stress.

Why is it that the programs for vocations that should be most appreciated and supported - like, say, teaching, nursing, and so on - are the most complicated and asininely structured?

"Asinine" is a word I use not often enough.

But I would use your two-weeks with a charger and a stack of books; use it as a chance to catch up on your reading. And if that involves angering the 'rents well - you won't be around to hear them yell at you?

Arse. that is a very very poo situation indeed.

mind you finding somewhere to live from within a city is much easier than from elsewhere - internet or no internet.
