Yes, he is Dr. Archaeology, although he seems to work quite often as an ad hoc linguist (at least in most of the SG-1 I've seen) more often then that thing he got the PhD in.

Ahahaha... actually you already did, but I am in Sydney, Australia, and can only access the first two seasons at the moment. (No downloading, alas.) So SG1 it must be until the dvds of season 3 are released down under.
