Sep. 5th, 2007 09:06 amHey folks.
I'm living in a room with holes in the walls and a colony of small black flies, but really I'm not worried since I imagine the spider population is keeping them down. I don't have anywhere else to live yet, but I do have the internet here in the library (no flies! Yay!) so I'm looking. Pretty industriously, actually, since I'm looking forward to having fewer possibilities when I'm trying to work out who has stolen my fork. I only had one! I ate cannelloni with a spoon last night! Mostly I've been reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell in the time off I've had - social life will develop when there's a place I don't mind inviting people to - but now I've finished the book so I'm slightly lost for what to do. I'd buy course books but they're no doubt cheaper online and I don't have an address to send them to. I got a library card on my second day here, maybe I should look up the opening hours and trundle down there. There're buses, but it's only a 45 minute walk into town, steeply downhill all the way, so that's reasonably pleasant.
The course so far is alright; dull, yes, but since we're mostly covering National Curriculum rules and regulations so far this is no big surprise. The people are very nice so far, but seem a little too... practiced at dealing with people, I guess. I'm reserving judgement until I know them all a little better, but that's not going to stop me roping the lot of them and inveigling them into a pub.
I miss you guys and I miss my computer. Wish me luck finding somewhere we can cohabit, aye?

Date: 2007-09-05 12:25 pm (UTC)Did you get my random photo text at the weekend? Hope it came out ok, I tried to take one with the 3 of them in there but it may have looked a bit small/squished.

Date: 2007-09-05 12:32 pm (UTC)I can understand about the bugs and spiders. *swats* I left the spiders in the windowsills alone for ages and they did their jobs well. But then I was having company so I got rid of them and felt TERRIBLE. Overdeveloped sense of guilt, what?
Miss you. Good luck finding a place, and here's hoping that coursemates relax a little once things get going. ♥
