So... if I said I were considering doing a Masters in Education after this - largely because the whole sex education debate has fascinated me and I want to turn it into a dissertation - if I said that, how crazy would you think me?


For the record? I'm kinda... feeling ridiculous even mentioning it. Because I Are Not Clevar and such things are Not For Me. But but but I love this course so hard.

I think you should do it. We know you're more than clever enough - didn't one of your lecturers from Cardiff suggest a Masters after your initial degree? Education needs people like you, people who want to find out more, push boundaries, and make things better for the kids. There are some really big issues which are affecting the pupils of the feature, and sex education is a real biggie. Do it. Do your PGCE, teach for a year or two if you want to first, but plan it in.

(If I can do a Masters, which I'm going to do from September next year, then you certainly can - you're far cleverererer than me. My subject of choice is ethics in educational leadership, which I'm hoping to do as a dissertation from an MSc in Educational Leadership at Cardiff.)

b.) the important thing about doing a Masters/grad school/dissertation is doing it in something that fascinates you; I've heard over and over again that this is the difference between People That Are Grad-Happy and People That Are Grad-Depressed. And you are fascinated! That is the main qualification!

I am sure you would be fabulous at grad school, Nny, and your work sounds important, but I want to qualify that. The other difference between people who are and aren't grad-happy is the attention level provided by their advisors.

I'd say: Go for it! If it's something you'd like to do - just go for it. You're definitely clever enough as far as I can tell, and if it's something you can see yourself doing - *repeats self*
