You know you read too much fanfic when...

ARGH

something somewhere is beeping. Occasional and high pitched. And I have no idea what it is or HOW I KILL IT.

And all I can think is how unfair it is that this will never happen:


The mysterious, faint beep sounded in the pause after his words.

“That!”

“It’s a beep,” the man drawled slowly, and Rodney’d read all of his records and knew Sheppard wasn’t a moron, wasn’t even close to being a moron, but really. At that exact moment it was very, very hard to believe.

Rodney moved close to him again, wrapping a hand around his forearm and leaning in, mouth a tight, crooked line. “Sheppard, if you don’t want me to go irrevocably insane,” he hissed, “perfect a thermonuclear bomb the size of my thumb that will decimate this house as well as three-fourths of the entire world, after,” he held up a finger, “escaping the atmosphere on a highly-classified experimental spacecraft with only my cat and Teyla as company, you will find whatever the hell that damn beeping is and then help me kill it.”

Sheppard stared at him, surprise and then amusement registering on his face - which only served to enhance Rodney’s frustration, really, breath working up into indignant pants – but his mouth split into a loose grin and he said gamely, “Okay.”

Also, I just want to tell you that as it is coming up on 1am my time, I managed to jumble up words in the last paragraph and couldn't figure out why John's indignant pants (which, to me, meant, you know, part of uniform below waist) were frustrating Rodney.

...and rooting for him to just remove them and solve the problem.

I like that he's doing that! He's like "cat's important, Teyla's important, but YOU are not important because you wouldn't help me figure out the beeping and now I'm insane and it all your fault when the planet goes boom."

I totally totally agree. I need more icons, cause my measly little one is making me sad.

Patty ims me every day with new fics and I'm just amazed by the tons of really high quality stuff there is out there. I mean, the writing is exceptional!

I don't know how these people write this stuff - all the science and the voices, it's really hard! But I bet you can do it - you are awesome :D
