Awesomeness: a girl on my course told me that in her language there's a word that would be spelled in English 'heek' and it means 'to taste like something smells'. So, like, blood heeks of copper pennies you've held too long.

The fact that there's a word for that makes me entirely happy.

I live to plunder other languages for their vocabulary. Yesterday - no, Tuesday - I learnt "Vittu", which is is pronounced "Vit-oo" and apparently occupies a similar role to "kut" in Dutch. ;)
