I was in the kitchen talking to Emily Grace about this and I have a theory about how it happens.
Clearly, Parrish kills Plot Device Brown because Lorne asks him to, because Lorne want her out of the way because he's sick of dealing with a CO who is in the throes of unrequited love.
It all makes perfect sense.
