Mar. 28th, 2008 06:48 amWhat I want, still, more than anything in the world, is to find out that stories are real. I am still careful around wardrobes and watch avidly through the gaps in broken-down walls and try to spot the people from London Below on the Tube.
I haven't flung myself against the wall in Kings Cross, yet, but I take great delight in watching other people do so. XD
I make up stories about the people I see, especially if they vanish into nondescript doors or walk into blind alleys or look a little freaked out by thecrazy girl people around them. I love Torchwood because I know where the aliens are!
I don't want to grow out of this, thank you. Growing up is overrated.

Date: 2008-03-28 05:44 pm (UTC)And seriously, there is nothing quite like watching small children ping themselves repeatedly off a brick wall, seriously. XD

Date: 2008-03-28 12:13 pm (UTC)Everytime I see the London Eye, I think of the Doctor. And now, every time I see Queen Victoria, I think of werewolves and Torchwood.
I feel the same way about wardrobes. And we had a lamp post in our yard when I was growing up and once it snowed....well if I'd known what a hottie Mr. Tumnus was, I'd have watched longer.

In London I always get excited on the Tube because of Neverwhere, and go to St James Park to see if I can find Aziraphale and Crowley.

I think this is also why I mostly write fantasy/sci-fi/weird-shit stories.

And I'll go to Cardiff and claim to be from the lost Torchwood so they'll let me in. And I'll go to St.James and ride the Tube in hopes of seeing someone from London Below and I'll search for an old, possibly magical, wardrobe.
There should be like a tour, see the fantastic places in London!

beneath my dignity to climb a tree,
I'll never grow up,
Never grow up,
Never grow u-up!
Not me!
Mind you, unlike Peter Pan, I choose to grow up for the good bits and insist upon being allowed to act like a five-year-old when I feel inclined to do so. :D
And yes, so very much agreed on all of this. *dorky high-fives*

I'm one of those people who didn't throw themselves against the wall of King Cross because some part of me thinks it's a wall and I don't want to prove it's right. I prefer to think I choose not to cross :).
I still want to find my daemon or see if there's a village called Wall and go during Market Day.
We may grow old but we don't need to grow up :D

Date: 2008-03-29 12:12 am (UTC)That's a sloth called Shmoopy, and that's totally and without question what my daemon looks like. And there's a drystone wall near my house which has a gap that's fallen through, and the wood on the other side (I'm convinced) is a little wilder and a little older than the wood on this.
