I'm intrigued, frankly. I was watching snippets of these episodes earlier.

If you've seen any of the episodes and wanna tell me what you thought of 'em, that'd be awesome. :D

Um, I have seen every episode until about 1/3 through S4, when the weight of the stupid overwhelmed me and I quit watching. I haven't been "in the fandom," really, for about the last year.

I saw all of Road Not Taken and 48 Hours. I've seen the Rodney-clips of the other stuff.

What was the stupid in particular? I've forgotten so very much of what happened this season due to being stressed out over teacher training and suchlike. I really enjoyed the season over all, but I suspect that's largely because of my involvement in fandom - fandom tends to outweigh the show, which makes me a lot more willing to forgive.

Randomly, I saw a steam train yesterday and it made me grin hugely, and one of the carriages was an Isis. Made me think of you. :)

Yeah, that's exactly it for me. I no longer am watching it for the John/Rodney (or anybody/anybody - although I admit that Keller/Dex bit in Quarantine made me unexpectedly happy) so e.g Harmony mostly just made me gag. I miss Weir. I am having trouble adjusting to several new characters at once. I really hated the eps where they only had part of the team - like Harmony, or the one with Teyla and Keller wandering around, showcasing just how lame Keller was - and then, abruptly, she's no longer lame? What gives, writers? Also, I really like the Wraith as bad guys, but the replicator storylines don't do it for me. They feel kind of like old Trek.

So, I dunno. I just lost interest in the show once I lost interest in the fandom.

If I wasn't watching it for the John/Rodney I'd be forced to admit how dreadful it is in places, yes.

*laughs*

I'm still in the full flush of ridiculous love for the fandom, for the potential pairing dynamics, for the way that AUs just work so ridiculously well, so I'm very lenient when it comes to consistency and logic and all that sort of thing. I do think that the show is doing some very interesting things now, though, and I think some of the episodes in season 4 were excellent - but, like I say, I'm in love. I see no wrong right now.

Have you moved on to new fandom loves?

I was in due South fandom - I guess I still am (and I know you sort of are, too), but I'm no longer in that OMGLOVE stage. I'm looking around for a new fandom, but although I've been flirting with a few, I'm not in love with any. Waah.

Left out episode names because damned if I know the names of the episodes I've actually seen - I catch them on Sky One when I can and when I'm home from uni.

Those're only the ones with Rodney McKay in. I don't have all that much interest in SG-1 overall, although I'm kinda in love with Jonas.

Which is the SG:1 episode where they're all imagining what the SG:1 movie'll be like?

I've seen half of that one.

Um... I don't know. Is that the one with the puppets? Because that made me crack the hell up.

I've not seen much SG-1 - mostly just ones either with Rodney in, or that [livejournal.com profile] liz666 has made me watch. :D

I've only clicked on "Road not taken" and "Pegasus Project" from the SG1-Episodes, but I've seen all the Rodney scenes from the other episodes.

I was torn between "I haven't seen every episode and I'm in fandom" and "I've watched a few episodes and I'm in fandom" because I mostly started watching partway through season 3 and have seen all (though I missed "Travelers" and "Midway") of season 4.

And watched early SG-1 (mmm, Daniel Jackson), but none of the Rodney episodes than I recall.

My opinion of Pegasus Project changes hugely depending on whether I'm watching it as part of Atlantis or as part of SG1 canon. The first time I watched it was just as a random "extra" Atlantis ep (because I wasn't watching SG1 then) and while I didn't hate it the way other people did and the lemon scene didn't scar me for life, I didn't like it either. Then I watched it as part of my rapid devouring of every Cameron Mitchell ep ever and enjoyed it so much more because it worked as part of the SG1 story arc.

Um, was that anything like the kind of opinion-sharing you were after? ;)

(Also: Moebius confused the hell out of me but Road Not Taken rocked.)

I've seen a lot of the eps, but have a tendancy to get really annoyed at the show. What are they even *doing* most of the time? I was happy when Sam was joining the cast, but she didn't bring any ethical considerations with her. And then there was the one ep where Rodney, Sam and Keller get stuck in a room, and at the end of it I hated ALL of them. I mean, and Sam and Rodney were my favourite characters before! So I am quit for the foreseeable future.

I've read some of the fic, being as there's some really good stuff out there. But John/Rodney never clicked with me - I tend to draw my ships from near canon, and I really don't see it - and it's everywhere. So it's gotta be something special for me to click.

I do appreciate the fandom as an R&D lab for crackfic, however?

I watch all the SGA eps repeatedly :) Also watched all the Rodney SG1 eps (and Road Not Taken is my favorite by far!) though I have not seen pretty much any other SG1 eps nor do I have the desire to honestly :/ But SGA rocks my world :D

I love SGA to pieces, regardless of stupidity or lack of logic at times. :D (But then, I've always loved space shows, stupid or not, so long as they've got interesting characters.) So I've watched every ep (even though I only started watching last season; I ran out and got all the rest within a couple months) and love the fandom even more than the show. It's so crazy and awesome, and it makes me do new things.

I didn't really think of Rodney as my favourite character until I saw your question, which made me ponder as I debated over "favourite" and "love him". But, really, he makes all the other characters so much more interesting through his interactions with them. And I've gone through all the SG1 eps for Rodney-love, but I can't imagine them being as interesting if it was another character crossing over. So, yay Rodney! ♥

I have actually seen a bit, but it wasn't a few episodes, it was glancing at the screen a few times during one or two episodes. So I figured "haven't seen any" was closer to accurate.

I've seen all of SG1 and all of SGA and love them both (and own them both), and while I officially consider them both the same canon, same universe, etc, Atlantis is still my favourite of the two, mainly because of Rodney. In general I love Atlantis too ridiculously much to hold the occasional stupid against them. (I'm very forgiving once I'm hooked. S'why I kept watching Voyager after season 3.)

I can't remember giving Rodney much thought when watching SG1, but after I started watching SGA I went back and watched the Rodney-eps over with better background in my head - (e.g. the first time we ever see Rodney on SG1 is right after his falling-out with Jeannie) lends greater depth. I love my show. ^.^

I think my tolerance for stupidity in media is well-documented. :D I love SGA and I will love it forever, even when I am sick of fandom and move on to the next shiny thing, which I'm hoping won't be for a long time, because seriously?

There is no better fandom. It's all downhill from here.

I think you should be aware of just how manfully I am resisting beating you over the head with SGA fic. The one and only SGA fic I will ever write, CURSE YOU.

I'm just starting on season three. It appears that around this time is when the writers gave up and just let the interns write the show, yes?
