Man, I wish mcsmooch was running, or something. I feel a restless need to prove to myself that my writing doesn't make people's eyes bleed, but I can't think about writing anything of substance without tensing up. For some absurd reason writing for mcshep_match has freaked me out.

I just dislike everything I've ever written ever, at present, it's highly silly. :/ I've been horribly emo in pretty much all the time I've known you, it feels like, and I am sorry for it. I promise sometimes I'm not a whiner. ;)

Maybe take a look at QueerlyGen (http://queerlygen.dreamwidth.org/)? There's a prompt fest (http://queerlygen.dreamwidth.org/2324.html) with posting starting in a week, and after that it opens for posting of any gen works about queer and genderqueer characters. Substance not required! :)

I don't think your writing has ever made anyone's eyes bleed. You always put so much emotion into your writing, even in just a drabble, and it always manages to stick with me, in a good way.

I understand about mcshep_match though. Poking through the entries has made me very nervous and now I kind wish I'd done something else :/

I had a hard time with Match this year too, though. I had the worst time with writing for this challenge than I've had with anything in a while, and it's really screwed up my confidence.

It's such a big thing, isn't it? :/ And then I always start in analysing why I haven't more comments, how I screwed up, and it just gets ridiculous and I hide in a hole for a while.

You've reminded me, though, that I really do need to get back to reading through them, I only managed about half before I let it slide.
