Apr. 26th, 2012 09:57 pmAt work everything is getting worse. Worser and worserer. In the classroom, though, teaching and in front of the kids? I am still happy. I wish that was the main part of my job.
(I got home from work at 10pm yesterday. Today I got home at 8! But I have just finished work now. We are Not Thinking about how much work I have left to do...)
English education system is designed to create unhappy teachers and unhappy students, uninspiring teachers and ineffective learners. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG HERE AND NO ONE IS FIXING IT.
I have been planning how my school (the one I would make if there was a big lottery win) would be different, and how I would make it better. Also the motto.
Torn between
ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL
and
ON THE PATH TO AWESOME.

Date: 2012-04-27 08:55 am (UTC)*i finished my alevels in 1996 and my mother (the secondary school english teacher) and my step-dad (the AV technitian for my secondary school) are both retired now.
i loved infant school, hated junior school and loved my secondary school, and we just went to the local ones - easy decision because it was really the only decision (apart from private school - which wasn't going to happen.) I was a good student and always ended up in the top stream if a subject was streamed. in the end i got good gcses and didn't work hard enough on my alevels so just did ok. typical story.
hb went to prep then boarding school and hated it.
regardless we don't have the money for private school. A little voice in my head is saying 'home educate' which is scary to actually type here because i feel the need to point out that despite that i am not religous and i do want my children to have friends.
blah blah blah, nny, seriously i would be really interested to hear what you have to say. if you want to share in an email rather than hear mine is theoscatcat at oscarcat dot com
