I am in pain, but significantly less so, which is quite pleasing. I already like my job. I know, I do know that it's going to be a hella lot more work than this when I'm actually helping out in classes and the like, but I'm getting to know the people I'm going to be working with better and we've just all clicked so well straight away. We've been sitting around when the students are scarce discussing books, TV, queer theory and deconstructionalism, and it's just... yeah. I reckon this'll be a pretty good year if my health sorts out.

Plus I've found someone to go to the opera with, next time there's some at the Mayflower. Shiny.

I have to stop watching cool films. I seriously have to stop watching cool films. 'cos every time I watch a cool film, with cool characters, I have their voice in my head. It just... happens. It's not a conscious thing, it just... I can hear them saying things. Which means that either a) I have yet ANOTHER character I MUST NOT APP at milliways_bar, or b) I have yet ANOTHER plotless character-piece of fanfic that I will feel immensely guilty about not writing.

BASTARDS.

From now on people may only recommend me films with characters I will absolutely hate and have no interest in investigating further.
