I have come up with an idea for a community, but I'm going to need at least one person to help if this thing is going to get off the ground- I'm liable to get distracted by any new shiny that comes along, as anyone who knows me well will know. If I have someone to kick my ass occasionally- I won't make anyone else do all the work, I swear, I just need reminders- then I think it could be potentially quite cool.

So here's my idea.



I was inspired by this piece of graffiti by a guy from Bristol called Banksy.


I absolutely love this image, and I want to read something about it. I want to read something *inspired* by it. So what I thought was that I could start a community where people post things that inspire them, or things they *want* to be inspired by but can't find the words. Then anyone who *is* inspired by the item could submit what they come up with.

It wouldn't be fandom specific, or necessarily of any fandom at all- it could be original fic, poetry, art, whatever.

Another possibility is to put a time limit on each individual item, then take a community wide poll to judge which is the favourite. The person who submitted the item could then provide a small prize (say, two months paid account time, or some such) for the winner. I'm still turning the idea around in my head, no concrete plans as yet, but would anyone be interested in this? As co-mod, or as community member? Any ideas that could improve the plan? Comments?

I like this idea alot. Being a very visual person, as well as a fan of words, I am often inspired by visions - whether imaginal or experienced via art/photos/places/people etc etc. What about dreams/imagination/day dreams/"flashes"? Good luck with that. I would like to join for sure. :)

I've seen that picture around somewhereeeee. No actually, I think I saw the angel alone on a book cover. It nearly made me buy the book, but not enough. ;)

Its a good idea, but is the base a little too wide? Granted you've just come up with it. Sounds lovely though - I'm not much help in this area, but I'll probably have the comm on my watch.

I'd say go straight ahead with it. =)

Ooh, that's a very interesting idea. I get inspired far too easily, a photograph, piece of music, someone talking about how they feel about the sea (today in English, curse you, Raven! Diving into my head again! Get OUT!). Yeah, I'd join. Other ideas, though...might have to get back to you on that one though, bit brain-dead at the moment...

AND! Nny! Please, pleasepleasepleasePLEASE post something with Andre. PLEASE. I know I'm being a little bit of a nag, but I have Skazz pacing and being insecure and worried in my head, and it's distracting. PLEASE. It doesn't have to be much, just a comment to him and a reply...
