I can't pee if someone might be listening.

Is this just me? I have to wait until there is noise from someone else using the facilities, or someone flushing a chain or using the hand dryer. It's just embarassing.

So I just went to use the toilets, and a bloke was cleaning them. As soon as he saw me he ducked his head a little, gave me a shy grin, and headed out of there.

What a sweetheart. 'sfunny how little considerate acts can make you this pleased.

its worse when like... you really have to pee, and you go to a stall, and then someone goes into a stall right next to yours.. and you sit there.. and suddenly you dont have to pee anymore because that other person is there :P so then you worry they'll be listening for you to pee and be like "wtf why aint she peeing" -.-

I don't mind actually *peeing* while somebody's in there, but I'll wait until they're gone to leave. I have such serious bathroom paranoia. It's one thing if it's somebody you've gone into the restroom with, that I'm [mostly] fine with. But if I'm using the restroom and other people are in there, if I can, I wait until they're gone, or I'm sure they won't come out while I'm out of the stall. I don't like having to see them face to face.

I only have the shy bladder thing going on when it's a pressure situation- someone's waiting to use the toilet after me? Forget it. I can't go. Or with kids listening. I can't use the restroom at my daughters' school unless it's empty, because I have this weird idea that it's somehow improper for kids (the same gender as me, no less) to have to hear an adult using the toilet. So lame.

I'm the same. It's actually gotten a little bit better as I've gotten older, but I still feel weird peeing with other people in the vicinity. What I can't stand is when you go into the bathroom with someone and they talk to you while your both on the toilet. WHY? I always get so uncomfortable when that happens and can not understand why they would be talking. It's wrong.

I too, absolutely cannot pee when anyone is present. If this happens, I mean, and it's impossible to avoid the situation, I try make sure we don't meet afterwards at the sinks and mirrors. It's too awkward, it is too much of an intimacy, to have peed within such short distance of a stranger.

I have the same exact problem - I always thought I was really devient for it, or something, but I'm always nervous to use the restroom when there are others there.
