Jan. 13th, 2005 05:22 pmSo. What are the pairings that are wrong, but SO RIGHT? Pairings that just make SO MUCH DAMNED SENSE but just... nrgh.
Like, say...
Dumbledore/Willy Wonka
or
Lumiere/the Pixar lamp
or
Sinfest!God/Sinfest!Devil.
Contributions?

Date: 2005-01-13 10:04 am (UTC)Of the whole cliche of "let me show you how to do it by getting Exceedingly Close".
Jim Henson's arm slipping around Sinfest!God's waist, softly, tenderly whispering instructions in Kermit's voice...
God. I disgust myself.

Date: 2005-01-13 10:13 am (UTC)Hmm. I want a big list of analogies of Narnian characters. Sure, there are all the obvious ones, but who's Puddleglum meant to be?!

Re: Breakin' out the blasphemy...
Date: 2005-01-13 10:36 am (UTC)The thing is, a lot of the characters are symbols of types rather than individuals, so Edmund isn't just Judas but representative of all sinners, whilst a lot of the Silver Chair is more on the lines of Pilgrim's Progress or Piers Ploughman than a Biblical parallel. Which makes things trickier.

Date: 2005-01-13 12:03 pm (UTC)I'm not sure if it's true love (for one thing, if Anne's paired with Dream, what happens to the Anne/Diana?), but she's definitely one of his people.
