I was semi-serious. I'm probably not as big a religious history geek as you (unless you start in on medieval religion...) but I like to make the analogies.

The thing is, a lot of the characters are symbols of types rather than individuals, so Edmund isn't just Judas but representative of all sinners, whilst a lot of the Silver Chair is more on the lines of Pilgrim's Progress or Piers Ploughman than a Biblical parallel. Which makes things trickier.

True, very true. You're quite right, Lewis does love his archetypal characters, regardless of what source they're drawing from.

Hmmm. I can see I'm going to have to ponder this further...
