I have a stick of rock and I want to eat it but I'm scared if I try to break it on the corner of the wall the WALL WILL FALL DOWN.

(It is very large.)

Hit it against the floor outside (in a sturdy bag, so the sugar stays in the bag)?

I have to admit, my first mental image was a cylinder of granite.

But solid sugar sounds much yummier.

Wow, sounds like the cousin of the stick of rock one can sharpen into a stake for vanquishing vampires and/or zombies.

Is there a sufficiently sturdy/large counter or table top that would do it?

... yeah I had the same o.O reaction at first too.

We have Pop Rocks and rock candy, but we don't have any candy that's just called rock.

I also had not heard of that before! Same as what Batya says, to the best of my prior knowledge.

Sounds tasty, though!

I too had the American reaction. *laughing* Although I pretty instantly revised it mid-sentence to "oh, that must be the British name for rock candy."

Which is wrong, it seems, from your description! Rock candy is just a crystallized sugar on a stick, in a big spiky glob so it looks like you're eating actual crystals rather than sugar. Sometimes it's colored, and I think flavored sometimes, but the main taste is just pure sugar. Minty candy stick thing sounds different, but tasty! Like a candy cane, or totally different, or do you not have those?

Also your icon = most adorable thing ever. Paaaaaaaaanda!
