I'm not quite done with the packing, but very nearly, so I figured I may as well undelete. It's not as though I can't distract myself with other things if I'm so bloody determined, in any case. :)

I need to work on how I cope with pressure, clearly, or at least make a hell of a lot less whiney posts about it. One thing I will say, though, is that the one thing I most want to work on while I have time away from [livejournal.com profile] milliways_bar and spend less time on LJ in general is... I want to get to a place where I don't feel the need to apologise so fucking much. It drives me insane. I need to stop screwing up so much, I need to stop overstretching myself, and I need to have the confidence that I'm doing the right thing. Because I'm so in the habit of apologising that I end up undermining myself even when I know I'm right.

And just now, the right thing is to go shove more stuff in boxes and clean the top of the oven, so I shall bid thee a temporary farewell.

Yar.

Not that I think you screw up.

But you spend so much time apologising for "being crap" I don't know how you manage to pack. :P

Frustrating thing is that I have to work with what I've GOT here. I do screw up a lot, but so does everyone, and I do do decent things too... and all I'm going to bloody do is convince everyone else I'm crap by constantly telling 'em so. And that's just fucking idiotic.

*headdesks*

Yes, I am slow. :D!

You are slow like molasses. But I like molasses!

I have 31 different teas!

And I know nothing about molasses. Save for that 'child drowning in a vat of molasses' line in that song. XD

but so does everyone

(and that's the part you have to remember. You're no worse than anybody else, and quite a bit better than most, if'n you ask me.)

Hurrah for the being near done with the packing, and also for the determination to work on methods of coping with things. *sends tea and love*

Also! From up the comment stream - molasses is quite, quite tasty. It's a cross between syrup and honey in thickness usually, and is a type of syrup itself. It can be made from sugarcane, sugar beets (I wrinkle my nose at this, 'cause that's just not the same), or sorghum -- which is a crop plant species, grain/grasslike.

Sorghum molasses is the kind I grew up with. Ah, culture in the Southern US.

And now I want some.

Replying to my own comment with extra information, because I am fond of Wikipedia today:

Sweet sorghum. I still call it molasses, as did EVERYONE I know for about eighteen years. The "organization" can just get over it.

And it's still very tasty, and I still want some.

(I grew up in Tennessee. Yes, I have been to a Lambert's, as the article mentions, but I always had molasses on biscuits -- er, not the British style, the roll-type bread. It's really good.)
