I decided to search for something on google. This is not a rare occurrence. What is a rare occurrence is that I don't in fact type www.google.com into my address bar. Every time I search for something I type www.google.com into my address bar, even though I actually have a google toolbar.

This time, I stopped myself. "Self," I said to myself, "you have a google toolbar, with handily provided google box to type your search term into. No more will you have to wait for the google page to load before you start your search! No more will you have to remember the ever so complicated URL!"

So, all proud of myself, I typed directly into the google search box. And the page of search results came up and lo, I did laugh myself sick and whack myself in the face with the palm of my hand. 'cos I'd typed in 'google'.

I r so clevar.

Heh.

I always used my google toolbar at work, when I had it, but I never use it at home, because at home, it leaves the word you search for in the box, and that drives me up a WALL.

and I thought I was the only one who still typed in google.com even though Opera automatically comes with a google sidebar. (My reason is that then your search terms stay in the search box until you delete them, even once you've searched using them. This bugs me.)

HEE. That is so awesomely hilarious. ♥ I alternate. Actually, www.google.com.au is my homepage, but my automatic google address on my home computer is the JAPANESE GOOGLE. it just... is. so if I use the toolbar, I get Japanese google, which is usually fine (especially if I'm searching in japanese) but sometimes I want pages from Australia, so I'll hit the home button.

And, uh, sometimes I type in google.com or go to the hyperlink dropdown list. Why? Who knows. XD

I always use the toolbar, so I am totally thrown by browsers that don't have it. I have to... use the website? What? Extra step my fingers aren't used to!

Of course, that way I tend to miss out on all the silly fun things Google's page does for holidays or when they're bored.
