Hee. I made a CD for one of my students yesterday - I'm probably not supposed to do such things but she can't really communicate with ease and she has a hell of a time making friends, so when she has me yammering away at her about whatever comes into my head you should see the grin on her face. (Okay, sometimes she's laughing at me, but it's not exactly an uncommon compulsion.) Anyway, she's highly emo and she's played me things on her iPod before; a lot more hardcore than I tend to listen to these days, but six years ago in college? Absofrickin'lutely.

This has had me scrolling through all my old CDs - before I even started having music on computers, really - and digging out some seriously metal RAWR stuff.

I'm now listening to a collection of The Mars Volta (couldn't find my At The Drive In CD! D:!), Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, Incubus, Muse, Cave In, Sunna...

I'm gonna start headbanging in a minute, seriously. I feel more up for actually doing something than I have in a long while. This is definitely tidying room music, I reckon. (AM I HARDCORE? HELL YEAH I'M HARDCORE!)

Also, Carrie wants me to go to the Brook on Thursday to see a band called Oceansize. I've just checked them out on Myspazz and all 4 songs sound pretty damned good. They're described as indiecore...!!! Not dissimilar to college stuff, actually, but more pretty melodic. It's niiiice.
If you fancy going reply or send me a text. I need to let Carrie know tomorrow if I'm going and she's gonna get tix.

Damn, I've just realised I already have something on on Thursday already. I'm gonna try to go to the gig afterwards though, cos I'd really like to. Will just try to get a ticket on the door... I could give you a lift on my way (and you could tell me where the hell The Brook is!) but it would probably be between 8.30 and 9...as I hope that's when I can get away. Up to you.
